Gym Routine Tracker

What started as a simple ask — "build me a beginner workout routine" — turned into something I didn't expect: a working, pinnable digital tracker that actually changed how I thought about AI as a design tool. This is an ongoing personal project exploring how fast you can go from idea to usable product when AI is your collaborator.

Challenge

I needed a workout habit. I went to Claude expecting a text list I'd copy into my notes app like I always had. Instead, I got a functional UI I could pin to my homescreen and actually use. That moment of surprise became the real project and figuring out how far I could push AI-assisted building through real, lived feedback. Too long. Too hard. Wrong equipment. Each session became a design sprint with myself as the user.

Solution

A lightweight, iterative workout tracker built entirely through conversational AI. Tested in the gym, refined in chat, rebuilt from scratch more than once. Every version got smarter because the feedback was real. The current build is evolving into a more complete app focused on habit formation and progressive overload tracking, designed to make showing up feel easy and quitting feel harder. The bones of the functionality are shown and I have spent countless hours and credits seeing where different design tools can be pushed. In the end, I will reflect and post my findings.

Impact

Treating every workout as a usability test. Instead of designing in the abstract, I used the product, noted what broke, and brought that friction straight back into the next build. The fastest path to a better product turned out to be just living inside it.
